Anthony J. Biondi, 94, of Cape Coral passed away Monday, March 18, 2013. He was born Feb. 28, 1919, in N. Plainfield, N.J., to Angelo and Louise Biondi. He married Elena Laia in 1941 in Bayonne, N.J. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944 and served honorably during World War II. After the war, he lived in N. Plainfield for many years where he worked for Johns-Manville Corporation. He retired in 1977 and moved to Cape Coral in 1986.
Mr. Biondi was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7131 & 4th Degree Knight with Fr. Christopher Gaynor Assembly # 2115, the North Plainfield Italian American Club and also served as chaplain for the Sons of Italy Charles J. Bonaparte Lodge # 2504 in Cape Coral.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 72 years, Elena; three children, Joyce (Tom) Bayuk of Cape Cod, June (John) Richardson of Green Brook, N.J., and Bob (Linda) Biondi of Cape Coral; one sister, Marie Faggotti of Cape Coral; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Dominic, Joseph and Angelo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday March 25, at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Piscataway, N.J.
The family will receive friends for viewing this Sunday at Fuller Metz Funeral Home from 2-5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
