Donabelle Crisman, 84, of Cape Coral, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral. She was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Everett Rolland and Jessie May (Thomas) Devol.
She moved to Cape Coral more than 20 years ago after retiring from Ohio Bell Telephone in Cleveland, Ohio.
Over the years in Cape Coral, she has been active in the Telephone Pioneers, Sounds of Florida, the Cape Coral New Residents Club and United Former Officers and the Fort Myers Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies including dancing, singing, many types of crafting, travelling, photography, playing games (especially cards) and scrapbooking. She was a member of the BPO DOES and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Her infectious smile, twinkling eyes and ready compassion made her a friend to many who mourn her passing.
She will especially be missed by her daughter, Diana (Gary) Smith of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; her brother, Richard Devol of Kensington, Md.; her sister, Jane (John) Mosher of Pendleton, S.C.; sister-in-law, Carol (Todd) Brown of Exira, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33909, or Fort Myers Christian Church, 5916 Winkler Road, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
A funeral service will take place at Fort Myers Christian Church Monday, March 25, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
