Facing a one-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning with two out, the Cape Coral Seahawks reached down deep for some magic Friday night.
Billy Pryor got the first of three straight singles to set the stage for the Seahawks' 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Estero.
Pryor, who stole second base to get in scoring position, scored on an RBI single by Scott Dudas. Matt Richie then came through with the walkoff single to drive Dudas home. Richey and Dudas finished with two hits apiece.
Cape High sophomore Kyle Arjona (21) pitched five shutout innings, striking out 10, against Estero Friday night. More photos are available online at: cu.cape-coral-daily-breeze.com.
"After (Thursday night's) win at Lehigh, it was good to come away with a W tonight," said Seahawks coach Mike Gorton. "We fought back in the seventh inning and I hope it kickstarts us on a winning streak."
Richey scored on Justin Parmely's single in the sixth inning to put the Seahawks in front 1-0, breaking up a pitcher's duel in which Kyle Arjona tossed five scoreless innings allowing four hits and striking out 10. Parmely got the win in relief despite surrendering Estero's two runs in the top of the seventh.
