Fund school safety

March 9, 2013
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

This is about guns and students bringing them to school. We already had three or four stories that we were told about - guns on a school bus or in different schools in Lee County. What is the superintendent waiting for? We need a police presence at all our schools. Or are they going to wait until someone gets shot or worse?

They say they have no money. They would have plenty if they did away with School Choice, and spending $50 million or more on transportation. And what about the $100,000 to soundproof the superintendent's office? They found money for that.

Or the first class hotel to send Dozier to Vegas or California for meetings? But they claim they have no money for safety?

If that the case, we better start looking for another superintendent and board that will act on this before someone gets hurt or worse.
