70 single-family home permits

pulled in February in county

During February, contractors pulled 70 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at nearly $17.2 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 54 permits issued in January and 47 issued in February 2012, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.

During February, 28 multi-family units were permitted, compared to 8 in January and 18 in February 2012.

General commercial activity was valued at nearly $980,000, compared to $2.5 million in January and more than $1.8 million in February 2012.

During January, Lee County Community Development issued 2,782 permits of all kinds.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.

New CEO joins Realtor

Fort Myers and the Beach

The Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach Inc. has announced that Terry Penza has joined the association as chief executive officer.

Penza most recently served as CEO of the North Shore-Barrington Association since 1996 and the previous 10 years served associations in central and southern Illinois. She holds the Certified Association Executive designation from the American Society of Association Executives and also earned her Realtor Certified Executive designation.

Last November, the National Association of Executives presented her with the William R. Magel Award, which honors an individual who has excelled in his or her role as an association executive of a local or state Realtor association.

The Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach Inc. is a member-based organization of 4,300 members founded 89 years ago.

Anguilla single-family neighborhood in Sandoval sells out

Anguilla, a single-family home neighborhood by Pulte Homes in Sandoval, has sold out, according to Taylor Morrison, developer of the master-planned community in Cape Coral.

Anguilla, introduced in November 2010, offered 48 homesites overlooking two lakes near the community's pool and amenity center with two floor plans: The Brentwood and The Belmont. The Anguilla neighborhood included landscape maintenance with every home purchase.

The Brentwood model offered three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage with 1,515 square feet of air-conditioned living area featuring a centerpiece great room and was base-priced at $164,490. The Belmont offered three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage with 1,725 square feet of living area in an open floor plan including a spacious great room and dining room combined and was base-priced at $179,990.

Sandoval is the 524-acre gated community in the heart of Cape Coral.

Sandoval currently offers single-family homes and estate single-family homes in Phases I and II. Phase III, the final 100 acres, features four different collections of homes including twin villas, detached villas, single-family and estate homes. Every neighborhood has city water, irrigation and sewer service in place.

completes design of Chico's facility

Gora/McGahey Architects has completed the architectural design, documentation and construction administration services for Chico's new corporate office building located on the 60-acre Chico's National Store Support Center campus at 11215 Metro Parkway in Fort Myers.

The 146,000-square-foot Chico's NSSC Building 10 officially opened during a grand opening ceremony Feb. 27.

The building houses Chico's human resources, technology, e-commerce, store design and construction departments, creating approximately 150 new jobs, with the capacity for up to 450 jobs. For more than a decade, GMA has partnered with Chico's in the master planning of its continually growing campus and has designed more than 20 projects on the Chicos corporate campus.

The project is registered for certification with the Florida Green Building Coalition under their newly updated Green Commercial Building Standard. Taylor Morrison announces

newest golf course community

The West Florida Division of Taylor Morrison is in full swing with the construction of a new golf-centered community known as Esplanade Golf and Country Club of Naples. Located on Immokalee Road just three miles east of I-75, this gated resort-style community is situated on nearly 1,800 acres, which includes 170 acres of lakes and more than 1,000 acres of wetlands and preserves.
