Adolph Ferdinand (Budd) Traurig, 63, died of complications from heart and brain infections in Cape Coral at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.
The son of Adolph and Margaret Traurig, he was born on Nov. 11, 1949, in Worthington, Minn. He is known to his family and friends as Buddy. He moved to Lemars, Iowa, with the family in 1960. He attended Gehlen Catholic Schools. After a very brief stint in the United States Navy, he moved to Las Vegas, Nev., to pursue a career in the tile and coping industry.
While in Las Vegas, he became the proud father of his only child, his son, Karl Adolph Traurig. He moved to Dallas as the opportunities arose for increased business in Texas and eventually settled in Cape Coral, Fla., when the real estate boom drove up demand for this expert skills.

He is survived by his son, Karl Traurig; his sister, Patricia Markevicius; two brothers, Tom and Robert; and his father, Adolph Traurig. His sudden death also is an unwelcome end of his engagement to Cheryl Mason of Cape Coral. He will be joining his mother, Margaret; his three brothers, Donald, Michael and Kevin; and his three sisters, Susan, Mary Ann and Mary Margaret, in heaven.
He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, #7131, as well as a regular server/usher at St. Andrew Church in Cape Coral.
Loved ones and friends of Buddy may attend the funeral mass that will be celebrated at St. Andrew Church in Cape Coral, from 10 -11 a.m., April 13. Burial will be at VA Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev., a date to be determined at a later time.
