Baker, Brady handcuff Mariner 7-1

Senior left-hander Sean Brady struck out eight and allowed two hits over five innings Tuesday night to help Ida Baker spank Mariner 7-1.

Ryan Erhardt had two hits, including a double for the game's only extra-base hit, and drove in three runs for the Bulldogs. Brady contributed at the plate with a pair of singles.

Joey Morales had two hits for the Tritons.

The Bulldogs in essence put the game on ice with a four-run rally in the second inning and led 7-0 before the Tritons scored in the bottom of the sixth inning.

On Friday, the Bulldogs (7-2) play at Fort Myers and the Tritons (5-5) play at Lemon Bay.

Island Coast 10, Fort Myers 1: Devin Sirianni slugged a two-run double to cap a seven-run rally in the fifth inning Tuesday night as Island Coast ripped Fort Myers.

Sirianni, Christian Diaz and Nicholas Rodriguez contributed two hits and two RBI for the Gators. Brennan Rodriguez (2-2) pitched five innings, allowing one run on five hits with seven strikeouts.

The Gators (6-3) host Gulf Coast on Thursday.

Softball

Cape Coral 19, Cypress Lake 2: Makenzie Buss had four hits and was the winning pitcher in Cape Coral's three-inning blowout victory Tuesday night at Cypress Lake.

Mallory Gerrero and Kerry McLaughlin each contributed two hits, including doubles, to the Seahawks' 13-hit assault. The win snaps the Seahawks' six-game losing streak.

The Seahawks (5-6) host Estero Wednesday night.

Ida Baker 8, Mariner 2: Maddy Peres delivered a three-run home run in the first inning to set the tone the Ida Baker in Tuesday night's victory at Mariner.

Peres (5-0) struck out 15 batters and surrendered just two hits in a complete game pitching performance to outshine her Mariner counterpart, Alyssa Langdale (6-5), who struck out 12 batters.

Jessica Nuccio and Denia Bent contributed two hits apiece to the Bulldogs' cause.

The Bulldogs (6-2) host Fort Myers on Friday while the Tritons (6-5) host Lemon Bay in a district game on Friday.

Katie Kelly, Kaitlynn Grubb, Sarah Waitekus and Melinda Thirion contributed two hits apiece for the Red Knights (6-3, 3-1 district) play a makeup game Thursday at South Fort Myers.
