Greek Fest to entertain this weekend

Greek Fest will celebrate the rich heritage of Greece with authentic homemade Greek food and pastries, live music, carnival rides and dance performances. There will be live music by Demetrios & The Islanders.

The festival began Friday, March 1, and continues today, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 8210 Cypress Lake Drive, in Fort Myers.

Admission is $5 for an all-weekend pass. Children age 11 and under get in free.

There will be raffles, including one for a choice of a featured vehicle or $25,000. Merchandise vendors will be on hand, and church tours will be conducted.

A portion of the proceeds from the festival go to Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, Meals On Wheels and Communities Cooperative Ministries Incorporated.

Ethnic Bake Sale

All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church in North Fort Myers will hold an Ethnic Bake Sale Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Several ethnic baked goods will be available, such as nut roll, poppyseed rolls, cookies and a variety of breads, along with six varieties of pirohi and stuffed cabbage.

Also available will be Easter Bread -both egg and white raisin.

The church is located at 10291 Bayshore Road, east of I-75 and a quarter mile west of the Lee County Civic Center.

Rick Strickland in concert

Award-winning Southern Gospel tenor Rick Strickland will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church.

Strickland is a former member of the J D Stamps Gospel Quartet and an

inductee of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Come hear his testimony

in music.

Revival continues

Currently a revival is in progress, leading to a crusade, scheduled for June 1, "My City - God's City" with Pastor Maddox.

Tickets are still available for the fund-raising banquet to be held Feb. 24, at 4 p.m. Come and enjoy the food and program. Tickets are $25 for adults $10 for children, with youngsters 10 years and under under 3 years old - free.

Starting May 11, a Creation Health Seminar will be held with a time to be posted at a later date

Starting Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m., "Speak Out," an open forum, Give it to God" will be held. Ask questions on issues, problems, desires, burdens, concerns and by all means Testimonies welcome. This will be a quarterly event.

The Community Garden Experience is held Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon. The reaping is tasting great.

4th Annual Total Growth Conference Building Ministries Together

Six dynamic speakers will share their experiences and insights on church growth at the upcoming Total Growth Conference in Fort Myers.

This conference is free of charge, including complimentary lunch, and is taking place Thursday, March 7, at Next Level Church, 12400 Plantation Road, Fort Myers, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Presented by the National Association of Church Design Builders and sponsored by J.L. Wallace, Inc. General Contractors, the Total Growth Conference is intended for pastors, church leaders and committee members who wish to learn more about growing their churches and building for that growth.
