William "Bill" Joseph Van Wie, 56, a Florida resident for over 25 years, formerly of Albany, N.Y., passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in Cape Coral. He was born May 25, 1956, in Albany to John and Elizabeth Van Wie, now deceased.
He was of the Catholic faith. He is a former owner and was the current manager of Liberty Tax Service on Hancock Bridge Parkway in North Fort Myers.
He is survived by two sisters, Carol (Jim) Chmielinski of Quaker Street, N.Y., and Lynn (Ray) Gaidusek, also of Quaker Street; three brothers, John Van (Patricia) Wie of Albany, N.Y., Robert Van (Pierette) Wie of Schenectady, N.Y., and Tom Van Wie, also of Quaker Street; two step-granddaughters, Alicia (Clay) Rucker of Fort Myers and Autumn Lamphere of Cape Coral; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gail Van Wie, in 2010.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Mullins Memorial, 1056 N.E. 7th Terrace, Cape Coral.
