Carol Minot, 75, who was born Dec. 12, 1937, to Jack And Alice Fessler in Cincinnati, Ohio, died Feb. 14, 2013.
She graduated from Hugh's High School, Cincinnati in 1956. She went on to graduate from the University of New Mexico with an elementary teaching degree.
She had two brothers, Jack Fessler, and James Fessler.
She married, Richard Johnson, and they had three children, Margaret, Allison and Clayton.
She moved to Albuquerque, N.M., divorced and married Parker Minot Feb. 14, who became her true love.
As a little girl for years she watched her mother and father write and direct minstrel shows and melodramas. She was in the performing arts field; she loved to sing and dance and produce children theatre shows. She was a true vaudevillian performer. She wrote and directed many shows, as well as performing in them. She also wrote several children's books.
She taught pre-K through 5th grade for 40 years.She also founded and directed for 20 years the Bo...sque Farms Little Children's Theatre Group, with over 150 children.
After the death of Parker, she became involved with Bill Peagram and moved to Fort Myers, where the two performed on cruise ships and in retirement park communities and the Cape Coral Theatre with the "Shades of Vaudeville." She also won the all Fort Myers talent contest at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. She organized the Pioneer Days in the RV park in Fort Myers, which consisted of old vaudevillian style acts, one of which was the
Fabulous Fun Band. She loved to sing in church and truly believed in Jesus and all he is.
She is survived by son, Clayton Johnson of Fort Myers; daughter, Allison Spk; and grandchildren, Zoltan and Maggie Spk of Yankton, S.D., and her brother, James Fessler of Hot Springs, S.D.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Margaret Dunn; grandson, Patrick Dunn; Bill Peagram; Parker Minot; her beloved old English sheep dogs, Pooh Bear and Mandy; her parents, Jack and Alice Fessler; and her brother, Jack Fessler.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Bayshore Community Chapel, 16990 Church Drive, North Fort Myers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Bayshore Community Chapel Church.
