Cape Coral has shown strengths at at the plate and on the mound by winning its first two softball games of the season by 10-run margins.
The Seahawks destroyed East Lee County 11-1 Tuesday night in their second game in as many days.
"It's nice to start with two wins," said Seahawks coach Amy Petruska. "We still have to focus hard every game on who we are playing."

As she did on Monday in a 10-0 rout of Evangelical Christian, Makenzie Buss led the Seahawks at the plate and on the mound. She drove in five runs Tuesday with three hits, including a three-run home run in the first inning. Mallory Gerrero also connected for three hits while Clara Mediano contributed to the rout with a triple. The trio accounted for seven of the team's nine base hits.
The Seahawks (2-0) play their first road game Thursday at Island Coast.

District 6A-13: Ida Baker, which struggled to win all season, upset Riverdale 48-43 Tuesday night in the opening round of the District 6A-13 Tournament at South Fort Myers.
The win is the third in a row for the Bulldogs (4-21), who advance to face No. 1 seed Fort Myers Wednesday night at South.
Seth Woods led the Bulldogs with a game-high 28 points, including converting 6-of-8 free throw opportunities in the forth quarter. Nick Benvie contributed with key rebounds in the final minutes of the fourth quarter in which the Bulldogs overcame a 37-32 deficit to pull off the victory. A 16-6 run over the final eight minutes helped the Bulldogs.
Nate Evans contributed 15 points for Baker.
