Rev. Dr. David L. Uhl, 74, of Cape Coral passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Cape Coral. He was born in Lancaster, Ohio, and grew up in Cincinnati. He graduated from Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky., and received his seminary degree at Southwestern, Fort Worth, Texas, B.D., Th. M. and Th. D. (majored in Old Testament with minors in New Testament and Theology).
Dr. Uhl completed additional studies at TCU, Fort Worth, Texas language study, German and French, and attended St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Scotland, American Summer Institute, 1980, 1986, 1992.
His work experience includes permanent pastorates as head of staff (senior pastor) in Texas, Maryland, New York and Florida 1966 1994, as well as interim positions in Florida, Tennessee, New York and Georgia. Dr. Uhl joined Peace River Presbytery in 2003 serving as Interim at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church, Fort Myers 2003 2005; designated pastor at Chapel by the Sea, Fort Myers Beach 2005 -2008 and Parish Associate at Faith Presbyterian Church, Cape Coral 2008 2011. Dr. Uhl has served as the chair of Committee on Ministry for the Presbytery and was honorably retired in 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Scottie) Carroll; son, Brent (Dawn) Uhl and their children, Isabella and Luke of Dallas, Texas; and one sister, Sue (Dale) Schwaeble of Cape Coral.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Faith Presbyterian with Dr. H. Timothy Halverson and Dr. Bill Bearden officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
