The Cape Coral Hurricanes have scheduled their first official tryouts for their inaugural season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
Tryouts will be held at the Jim Jeffers Soccer Complex in Northwest Cape Coral on Jan. 25-27. The Friday session runs 6-9 p.m., Saturday's session 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday's session 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Hurricanes are looking for players that hold amateur status; currently play in college or on club teams; play in local leagues; and former college or professional players still looking to compete at a high level. All eligible players of any age are invited to attend.
Full application and waiver forms (PDF versions) are available at(www.CapeHurricanes.com.
The registration fee is $125 before Jan. 18; $150 through 5 p.m. on Jan. 23; or late registration is $175 from Jan. 23 to the start of the tryout.
The Hurricanes are one of the newest clubs in the NPSL competing in the South Region's Sunshine Conference.
Since the NPSL season primarily takes place during the summer months, local players and college players alike have the opportunity to get significant exposure while competing at a professional level.
