Frederick Joseph Whalley was born on July 1, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to his parents Frederick and Esther (Whitehill) Whalley and passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in Cape Coral
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley of Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral; son, John (Nancy) Whalley of Morganton, N.C.; step-daughter, Shirley Anne (Dennis) Polifroni of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He married Shirley in 1977 and spent his life as a banker until his retirement in 1985 when they moved to Cape Coral. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Shriner of Fort Myers, Rotary Member and Paul Harris Fellow of Cape Coral, as well as a member of the German American Club.
The family will receive friends from 46 p.m., today, Jan. 2, at the Fuller Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral. A celebration of his life will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3.
Entombment will follow services at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
