I-Coast falls again at ‘Rock’

Island Coast could not get its offense untracked Saturday and lost to Lyman 45-43 in the consolation bracket of the Rock Holiday Classic in Orlando.

"We played hard, we just didn't play well," said Gators coach Greg Coleman.

Kaleb Darrett led the Gators with 16 points and seven rebounds while Sonel Mathurin grabbed 14 rebounds.

The Gators (9-7) play for seventh place at noon today.

Leonard 67, Cape Coral 56: A full court press for 32 minutes finally wore down Cape Coral late in Friday's semifinal loss to Leonard in the Bradenton Christian Tournament.

"We just ran out of gas after playing two really good teams back to back and their full court pressure," said Seahawks coach Tom Kenna.

Chase Galuzny topped the Seahawks in scoring with 27 points with David Flynn adding 10 points.

The Seahawks (7-7) plays for third place at 5 p.m. today.
