Flynn hits 1,000-point plateau in Cape victory

David Flynn pitched in 18 points to top the 1,000-point mark for his career and lead Cape Coral to a 53-51 victory Thursday night over Brandon in the Bradenton Christian Tournament.

The win sends the Seahawks (7-6) to a semifinal match at 5 p.m. Friday against Dennard.

Chase Galuzny added 13 points, including two game-winning free throws with one second left in regulation time, and Jovan Boyd 10 points.

Flynn converted a tournament record six three-point goals and the Seahawks hit a tourney-high 11 three pointers.

The Seahawks face Dennard in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Friday.

Lincoln County (Ky.) 63, Island Coast 57: Island Coast could not dig itself out of an early deficit hole and fell to Lincoln County in the first round of the Rock Holiday Classic in Orlando Thursday night.

Kaleb Darrett led the Gators with 25 points, Angel Inchausti added 13 points and Jordan Lugo 11 points.

The Gators (9-6) face Lyman at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the consolation round.

In the Queen of Palms Classic:

Cape Coral 51, Armwood 18: Camry Williams led Cape Coral to a lopsided victory Thursday night over Armwood in the Opal Division of the Queen of Palms Classic at Cape High.

Williams, the only Seahawk in double figures, was aided by Mackenna Beach with nine points and Crystal Townsend with eight.

The Seahawks (13-0) face Orlando Evans at 8 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.

The Bulldogs (9-5) face Palm Harbor at 3 p.m. in the consolation bracket Friday.
