Richard Farr of Cape Coral, formerly of Wethersfield, Conn., died Nov. 11, 2012. He was born June 1, 1929, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., a child of Samuel and Margaret (Knowles) Farr.
He grew up in Miami and graduated from The University of Miami. He served with the 3rd Division in Korea and remained in the Army Reserves, retiring with the rank of colonel. He was a food broker for Tyson foods until retiring to Cape Coral in 2001.
He was grateful for his many wonderful friendships formed through membership at Faith Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed Sunday afternoons with the bocce league, Gad-A-Bouts and was also a member of the Southwest Florida Sportsmen Association.
He will be remembered as a loving and kind husband and father by his wife, Diony Stoddard Farr, and their daughter, Kendall Farr of New York, N.Y.
A memorial service for Richard will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m., at Faith Presbyterian Church, 4544 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral. Friends may sign the guest book at www.dignifiedcremations.com
