To the editor:
Friends and Supporters of Lee County Public Schools,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support this election
season and for allowing me to continue serving our students and the
community for another four years. I am so very humbled by your support and I
am truly thankful.
There have been many triumphs and challenges the past 12 years I've been
lucky to call myself your School Board member. I know as we continue on this
journey together, our District will enjoy even more success. And I want to
assure you that I am ready to work with my fellow Board members and everyone
across Lee County to meet any challenges that may arise head-on. And to
those who may not have voted for me, I want you to know that I will work as
hard as I can the next four years to earn your confidence and support.
Since joining the School Board, my primary focus has been doing what was
best for the children of Lee County - and that focus is as strong today as
it was then. As a Board member, I will continue to advocate for public
education and those it serves - our children - as hard, or even harder, than
I have the past 12 years. I'll be sure we provide whatever resources are
available to help every student succeed at their highest personal potential.
Going hand in hand with that, I want to assure you that I take fiscal
responsibility very seriously. Not only will I fight to ensure that every
available dollar comes to Lee County, but I will also look out for our
taxpayers and scrutinize every dollar spent to ensure it is spent the best
way possible.
I will continue my open-door approach as your School Board member. You can
reach me via E-mail (jeannesd@leeschools.net) or by phone (239-337-8303) or
in writing (2855 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Fl 33966.) To truly be
effective as a Board member I need to hear from you - communication is the
key.
I am proud of all that our students, teachers, school and community have
accomplished and I know that working together - schools, families and the
community there are many more successes in our future.
Again, I thank you for the opportunity to serve you as your School Board
member and I look forward to making our District better today than it was
yesterday and better tomorrow than it is today.
Sincerely,
Jeanne S. Dozier
District 2
