two games after missing out on the school's first playoff berth.

The Tritons finished 3-7.

Sophomore quarterback Sage Attwood passed for 264 yards and three

touchdowns, including 69- and 43-yard strikes to Roy Denson. He also ran for

a two-point conversion and passed for another.

"He played an outstanding game and made plays when he needed to," Bulldogs

coach Brian Conn said.

Senior running back Jeremy Betts caught a 10-yard TD pass from Attwood and

rushed 13 times for 76 yards and two more scores.

Mariner sophomore quarterback Joey Lantz tossed a 55-yard TD pass to Jaylen

Mitchell and scored on a two-yard run.

"We had a 7-3 season, which is nothing to balk at," Conn said. "Our seniors,

13 strong, played hard all season, and tonight, again the seniors shined in

all three phases of the game to finish out strong against a crosstown

rival."

The Bulldogs scored on offense, defense and special teams, all in the first

half.

Special teams got things going when the Bulldogs blocked Justin Kuchle's

punt, setting up Betts' eight-yard TD run.

Attwood hit Denson from 69 yards out, then passed to Trayvon Clark for a

two-point conversion and a 14-0 lead.

Mariner defensive lineman Justin Vargas briefly got the Tritons back into

the game. The big senior picked off Attwood's screen pass and rolled 48

yards for a touchdown.

However, senior Gabe Hollow took the ensuing kickoff up the middle of the

field for 95 yards and a touchdown for Baker.

"At that point, we were kind of back and forth on our special teams," Conn

said. "We started out great on the blocked kick, then a couple of mistakes

on punts, but then we got the kickoff return. It was just one of those

games. It went back and forth, but we made the plays when we needed to.'

The Tritons fumbled the next kickoff, but stopped Bulldogs on the Tritons'

8, only to fumble a play later with Lamar Dumas recovering in the end zone

for a Bulldogs touchdown.

Attwood finished off the first half with a 10-yard TD pass to Bryan Tirado,

then added a 2-point conversion run himself for a 34-7 lead at intermission.

Mariner scored twice in the third quarter to cut the margin to 34-20 before

Baker pulled away.

Denson finished with 138 yards receiving.
