Martha Medora Morton Hampel, 84, a Cape Coral resident for more than five years, formerly of Fort Myers and Illinois, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Cape Coral. She was born March 16, 1928, in Philadelphia, to John C. and Minnie Morton, now deceased.
She was a member of Gateway Grace Fellowship Church, Gateway, as well as Hope United Methodist Church in Cape Coral.
She is survived by her three loving children, David (Debbie) Hampel of Indiana, Robin Hampel of Cape Coral and Linda (Paul) Bingaman of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Robert Hampel, Amanda Hampel Livingston, Jason Vaught and Marc Bingaman; seven great-grandchildren; and a very close friend, Marla Zitko also of Cape Coral.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Hampel, in 1992 and her son, Timothy M. Hampel in 1980.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at the Gateway Grace Fellowship Church, 13241 Griffin Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33913, with Dr. Mark P. Gonzalez and Rev. Lee Carnahan officiating.
