To the editor:
I would like your readers to consider the candidacy of Jim Roach, Democratic candidate for Congress in District 19. A decorated Vietnam veteran, Jim Roach has spent the past two years talking with people in Southwest Florida to learn what they would like to see happen in Washington. Jim has studied many key issues and has separated facts from myths on topics ranging from Social Security and Medicare to Immigration and the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
Jim Roach has consistently taken the time to educate interested voters on the facts and has exposed the strange fictions that have arisen in political debate. Jim is not confrontational but rather draws people together to uncover interests that are shared in common. That is the approach we need in Washington, getting people to work together for the common good. That is Jim Roach's background and his goal - getting people together to work on solving problems rather than laying blame.
People of all backgrounds and political parties can unite behind the candidacy of Jim Roach and be confident they are contributing to solutions instead of gridlock. If you want our country to get better you'll be well served by voting for Jim Roach.
