Baker drops home volleyball finale

Charlotte 3, Ida Baker 0: Ida Baker was unable to turn the festive energy of senior night into a victory Wednesday night, dropping three games to Charlotte 25-20, 25-18, 25-14.

Seniors Ali Nicloy and Brittney Benvie led the Bulldogs offensively. Nicloy served up four aces to go with three kills while Benvie served five aces with two kills. Devon Ramey and Kristina Kayatta contributed four kills apiece.

The Bulldogs (10-13) visit Lehigh Thursday in the regular season finale.

Cypress Lake 3, Island Coast 0: Island Coast slipped to 3-16 on the season with a 25-14, 25-14, 26-24 loss to Cypress Lake in the Gators' home finale Wednesday night.

Morgan Kuchman contributed two kills and two blocks for the Gators seniors. Olivia Lugo had one kill and two assists, Mikaela Kelley one block, one kill and an assist with Marina Zuspann making three digs.

The Gators play at Cape High Thursday night.
