Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library announces November progams

Next month's roster of activities at Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:

ADULTS

English Caf

10 a.m., Fridays, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 30

6 p.m., Tuesdays, Nov. 6, 13, 20, 27

Practice your English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.

"Cow Path to Heaven"

2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3

Jeannette Batko, a local author from Cape Coral, will give a talk about her new book "Cow Path to Heaven." "Cow Path to Heaven" contains funny whimsical stories that address the quirks of human nature. Registration is required.

Craft Corner: Knitting and Crocheting

3:30 p.m., Mondays, Nov. 5, 19, 26

Bring your ideas to light and make a handmade treasure. Materials will be provided for newcomers, or bring your own project to work on. Sponsored by Friends of the Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library. Registration is requested.

Chess Anyone?

5:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Nov. 6, 13, 20 27

Rise to the chess challenge and join the fun. Everyone is welcome. Bring a personal chess set, if preferred.

Book Discussion: Food Memoirs

2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14

Food can conjure up many memories for the reader. It can take you back to your childhood, or remind you of your first trip away from home. Join us for a discussion of one of the most popular genres in book publishing today.

FAMILY

Family Storytime

9:30 a.m., Thursdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 29

10:15 a.m., Wednesdays, Nov. 7, 14, 28

This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes.

Baby-Parent Rhyme Time

10:15 a.m., Thursdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 29

Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby! These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants.

Holiday Craft & Story

4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8

Children, teens and parents are invited to hear a story and make something special for the holiday. All turkeys welcome! Registration required.

2012 Design a Bookmark Contest Reception

1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17

All patrons are invited to come and honor the winners, honorable mentions and participants of the 2012 Design a Bookmark contest. Winners and entries will be on display. Refreshments will be served.

CHILDREN

Kids Read Down Fines

6 7 p.m., Mondays, Nov. 5, 26

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading, during the allotted time. A total of $8 per day may be earned. For ages 18 and younger. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only. Please bring your library card.

Preschool Storytime

11 a.m., Thursdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 29

11 a.m., Wednesdays, Nov. 7, 14, 28

Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) attend this storytime independently while parents or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. This storytime includes activities that require more participation and a longer attention span. Each preschool storytime lasts about 30 minutes. Registration is required.

TEENS
