Art & Book Fest set for Saturday

A free event in the Cape Saturday will benefit the Suncoast Neighborhood Task Force for children in North Fort Myers.

Woman's Life Chapter 701 and The Bridge Networking Group, Inc. will hold an Art & Book Fest on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Hampton Inn, 619 S.E. 47th Terrace, Cape Coral from 9 a.m. to noon. This event is free and open to the public.

Rodger Dodger and Rabbit from Adventures of Rodger Dodger with author Jan Britland, will make a live appearance.

Each child up to 18 years old will get to choose two new books from Woman's Life.

"We have many titles to choose from and they will be grouped by age," said organizer Michelle Andre.

Woman's Life Chapter 701 will be selling $1 raffle tickets for a Pandigital Multimedia Novel 7-inch Android Multimedia Tablet & Color eReader. The drawing will be at noon; you don't need to be present to win. Adult and children authors will be signing and selling their books.

Authors include Michele Sfakianos, Jerry Summer, Donna Shirley, Laura Nonemaker, Tom Williams, Sharon Sapp, Joy Rocco and North Fort Myers Neighbor editor Andrea Galabinski.

Laura Nonemaker will read her children's book with puppets at 11 a.m. Local artist also will be displaying and selling their art.

Sponsors include ColorTec, Cruise One, author Donna Shirley and Robin Lawrence. Guests will be able visit sponsor booths and other local businesses at this event. The Woman's Life Insurance Society will match the first $500 raised.
