Prep Report: Baker, Mariner post golf wins

Ida Baker 152, Bishop Verot 168, Canterbury 196: In its final tuneup before the LCAC Tournament on Monday, Ida Baker knocked off Bishop Verot and Canterbury Wednesday at par-36 Palmetto Pine Country Club.

Anthony Myers and Anthony Montoya led the Bulldogs to victory with co-medalist scores of 1-over-par 37. Ross Lally and Payton Shehane came through with matching 39s.

Brandon Myer led Bishop Verot and Chad Bowling led Canterbury, both with rounds of 39.

The Bulldogs (14-1) go after the LCAC title Monday at River Hall in Alva.

Ida Baker 152 - Anthony Myers 37, Anthony Montoya 37, Ross Lally 39, Payton Shehane 39.

Bishop Verot 168 - Brandon Myer 39, Matt Williamson 41, Chase Kollmann 43, Robert Butler 45.

Canterbury 196 - Chad Bowling 39, Porter Goff 51, Devon Tounjian 52, Jordan Johnson 54.

Mariner 171, Cypress Lake 199: Senior John Inkster fired a career-low 1-under-par 35 Wednesday to lead Mariner to victory over Cypress Lake at Cypress Lake Country Club.

Tanner Vandemark and Jordan Kenney turned in rounds of 42 and 45, respectively, both of which were below Cypress Lake's low round of 48 by Danny Jones.

The Tritons (8-2) take on Dunbar Thursday at Eastwood.

Mariner 171 - John Inkster 35, Tanner Vandemark 42, Jordan Kenney 45, Cody Carroll 49.
