Ida Baker's first 18-hole preparation for the boys' golf district and state playoffs ended with a sixth-place finish in the Mustang Invitational tournament Thursday at Seminole Lake Country Club.

Anthony Myers shot a 2-over-par 73 to tie for third overall. His Bulldogs teammates weathered the long, tiring 5 1/2-hour round in the low 80s with a team total of 316. Ross Lally and Payton Shehane carded 80s while Daichi Dougherty shot 83.

The Mustang was the first of three 18-hole tournaments the Bulldogs are playing over the final three weeks before the district tournament.

They compete in the Crutchfield Invitational in Sebring on Monday and the LCAC tournament on Oct. 8. The only other remaining regular season matches are a pair of nine-hole and possibly a makeup of a rained out match before the LCAC.
