Thomas M. Ares, 89, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012. He was born April 30, 1923, in Camaguey, Cuba. He was an accomplished artist and was a retired state of Alaska employee.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margarita; and survived by his three children, Miguel, Lorena (Lawrence) and Jorge; two granddaughters, Lorena and Tatiana; and great-grandson, Austin.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Sept. 28, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral. Interment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery in Cape Coral.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 7:30 p.m., at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral.
