Robert Thomas Brasfield, D.M.D., died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, Cape Coral. He was born in Memphis, Tenn., Nov. 25, 1933.
He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, was one of the early dentists that started his practice in Cape Coral in 1966 and retired in 2007. He was a past president of the Lee County Dental Association in 1972.
His pleasure was sailing and he did offshore racing for many years, was commander of the Cape Coral Power Squadron and taught sailing for 15 years. He was a member of Rotary South and a Paul Harris Fellow.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Libby; son, John; and daughter, Jenny, who both reside in Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m., at Faith Presbyterian Church on Coronado Parkway in Cape Coral, with a reception to follow in the Faith Fellowship Hall.
