To the editor:
I would like to say a public thank you to all the men and women I dealt with on Thursday, April 18.
I had a injury that required me calling 911. From the moment that call was placed I was treated with the utmost care and concern by not only dispatch, actually two of them, but by the police department, fire department and EMTs. They identified themselves, spoke slowly, gently but authoritatively so they could really asses the situation, and to make sure that I was physically okay. They gave me concise instructions and made sure that my husband and I understood and were able to do what was asked.
Never did either gentlemen on the phone leave me; it was if they were right next to me. Police and firemen came next and again the gentle yet efficient team went to work. The policeman asked what happened, took the information, and handled the situation very professionally. One fireman knelt down beside me, checked my injuries and made me feel a lot better about what had happened. Next came the EMTs and again, gentleness, efficiency and concern. I am sorry I did not get anyone's name in all that transpired but I could not have been in more capable hands.
On to Cape Coral Hospital and again a great staff, again caring and concern, and again an explanation of what I needed to know about the injury. If I had any fears of certain aspects of the injury, they were pushed aside by the explanations of all involved from start to finish.
My husband and I would again like to thank all of you for being there for me, we can not say enough about it. God Bless You. Thank you
Mike and Mary Piccione
