CCPD searching for woman in purse theft

The Cape Coral Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a woman in connection to a theft.

A woman reported on Aug. 7 that her purse was taken out of her shopping cart at the Publix, at 1616 Cape Coral Parkway W. The victim and witnesses described a woman in a pink dress as the person who took the purse.

After taking the purse, the woman exited the store and got into a light colored or white "boxy" type of vehicle that was parked directly in front of the Publix in the fire lane.

The Cape Coral Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the woman in pink dress in connection to a purse theft Tuesday at the Publix, at 1616 Cape Coral Parkway W.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the woman is asked to call the CCPD at (239) 574-3223. People can also submit an anonymous tip by going to: www.capecops.com/web-tips or texting "CCPD plus your message" to CRIMES (274637). Tipsters can also contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477).
