Elaine Ruth Singler, born Jan. 27, 1924, entered into eternal rest on Aug. 12, 2012. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Herbert and Edna Koch, and wife of 56 years to Kenneth A. Singler, now deceased. Elaine and Ken moved to Cape Coral in 1974 when the population was but 17,000. They became charter members of Christ the Servant Church in Cape Coral. Elaine later transferred membership to Faith Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral.
She is survived by three children, daughter, D.J. Weston of Cape Coral, and sons, Paul and Kerry Singler of Robertsdale, Ala. There are 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Singlerf was an employed banker at the Cleveland Trust Co., in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a Girl Scout leader, den mother, former president of PTA at Parkview Elementary School in Ohio, former leader of TOPS in both Fort Myers and Ohio, member of the Naomi Circle of Faith Presbyterian Church and for many years a member of the Nimble Thimble quilting group in Cape Coral.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with services to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice in Cape Coral or the American Cancer Society.
