New Resident Club meetings for August

The New Resident Club will hold several events in August.. Those include:

* Aug. 7- The New Residents Club will holds its General Meeting at 9 a.m. at the Cape Coral Yacht Club. The following are a list of our guest speakers, Joyce Easton (City Manager's Office), Paul Dickson (Cape Coral Building Official), Frank Cassidy (Cape Coral Code Enforcement), and Roxanne Seefloth (The Wellness Center of Cape Coral). Our topics include the Citizens Academy program, what to look out for after an emergency, avoiding unlicensed contractors, building codes and fitness programs.

* Aug. 15 - Game Night! Join us at Anthony's on the Blvd. to enjoy a buffet dinner that consists of two entrees, salad, rolls, coffee, tea or soft driks for only $12 per person. Play games with fellow club members and have fun.

* Aug. 16 - Ladies' Luncheon Join the Ladies of the New Resident Club at Carmine Street NY Pizza & Mussels.

* Aug. 22 - Cocktails on the Cape. This month we will meet at Geo's Italian Restaurant from 6 p.m. to close. Socialize with fellow members and enjoy happy hour drinks, discounted appetizers and pizza.

The New Resident Club is a social organization for both couples and singles. Full time and part-time residents are welcome. If you've lived in Cape Coral for less than three years then now is the time to join! If you've resided here longer than three years then you can join the club in September when we have open enrollment.

The club offers monthly activities and network opportunities. Monthly events consists of cocktails on the cape, dinner/dance, ladies luncheon, coffee social, game night, bowling, golfing, book club, potlucks and so much more. Whether you are a full time or part time resident, single or married September is the month that you don't have to be a "new" to join.

The social club was founded in 1967 with over 500 current members formed to help people meet new friends and learn about the community. Members receive an offer of a free one month subscription to The Breeze, our local newspaper. During the general meeting, dinner dances and at the ladies luncheon special raffles are held. Generous donations are given by local businesss to welcome our members and become acquainted with their services.

Cost of membership is $35 for two years.
