Cape police seeking Do The Right Thing nominations

June 27, 2012
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The Cape Coral Police Department's "Do The Right Thing" youth recognition program is once again looking for children in the community who are doing good things over the summer.

For 18 years, the CCPD has been awarding students who attend Cape schools for their positive actions and attitudes through the "Do The Right Thing" program.

These actions may include:

- Writing letters to military personnel

- Earning money for a charity or donating their time

- Cleaning litter from a park

- Saving a life

- Taking a stand against bullying

- Showing concern for wildlife

- Looking after an elderly neighbor

- Collecting canned goods for the food bank

If you know of a student who has done something worthy of recognition, the CCPD would like to know about it.

Take a few minutes to fill out a nomination form, which can be obtained by calling (239) 242-3342 or print one from the website: and mail it to Cape Coral Police Department, 1100 Cultural Park Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33990, Attn: Community Outreach.
