This Saturday, June 30, look for the Most Fashionable Pet, a pet and owner look-alike contest, and drawings for a year's supply of pet food at Pet Supermarket in Cape Coral.
They are all part of a "Customer Appreciation Day" to be held Saturday at the store, located at 1338 Del Prado Blvd., S.
Manager Cheryl Spalding said this is the second annual event, and it is a lot of fun.
Audrey Sue proudly wears her Surfer Girl T-shirt and a bow on her head in preparation for Saturday’s Most Fashionable Pet Contest at Pet Supermarket in Cape Coral. Her mom, Cheryl Spalding, is the manager of the store located on Del Prado Boulevard.
"The event runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. all day Saturday, with the Most Fashionable Pet Contest at 11 a.m., with registration for that contest from 10:30 to 10:55 a.m," she said.
Then there is the Pet Look-Alike Contest at 2 p.m., with registration from 1:30 to 1:55 p.m.
"There will also be drawing registration for either a year's worth of pet food or a $100 gift certificate and drawings for different baskets all day," she said.
They will then pull the winning ticket Sunday morning from all of the registrations the previous day.
"You don't have to present to win those, we will call the winner," Spalding said.
Of the fashionable pet contest, they had many classy entries last year.
"We had some dogs in pink dresses, some in tuxedos," she said. "We had two dachshunds dressed as 'biker boys' and some dogs dressed as princesses. There will be a gift card for the winners of both contests."
There will also be several rescue groups there.
"Two different chapters of the Helping Paws group will be there - one with cats and one with dogs for adoption," she said.
Spalding said her pet-friendly store is fun to work at year round.
"Many of our customers bring their pets, and sometimes let them pick out their own toys. We help fit them for appropriate sizes for harnesses and collars."
