Doris Jean (Smith) Kisabeth, 81, of Cape Coral, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at the Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral after fighting a battle with cancer. She was born July 28, 1930, in Lorain, Ohio, to John K. and Julia A. Smith of St. Petersburg.
She was a homemaker and the loving wife of Donald C. Kisabeth, formally of Fostoria, Ohio.
She graduated from Lorain High School in 1948. During the summer of 1951, she enjoyed her time working at Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point. She was a member of the PHI Sorority and graduated in 1952 from Heidelberg College. She went on to become a home economics teacher at Fostoria Junior High and High School from 1952-57.

She was happily married on Oct. 16, 1955, at The Hungarian Reformed Church in Lorain, Ohio.
She was a member of the Fostoria Eastern Star and the Fostoria Ladies Garden Club. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church, in Fostoria, Ohio, and then became a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, in Cape Coral.
She and her husband raised four wonderful children in Fostoria, Ohio, where they enjoyed summers at their cottage on Catawba Island.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, line dancing and was a faithful viewer of the television series, "Days of Our Lives." In the late 1980s, she was the head cook's assistant for the nationally distributed "Amish Cooking" and "Heartland Cooking" television series hosted by Marcia Adams.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Kisabeth; children, Dr. Tim C. Kisabeth of Godfrey, Ill., Scott J. (Denise) Kisabeth of Bowling Green, Ohio, Jill M. (Kevin) Auchmuty of Cygnet, Ohio, and Kay L. (Rod) Brownell of Vermilion, Ohio; and grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Mitchell, Samantha, Sean and Rachel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Smith of Greensboro, N.C.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria, Ohio.
