Raymond Roeper King, 86, of Bokeelia passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012.

He was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, to James and Mimi Roeper King.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy. He was the owner of B & L Carpet Inc. in Brunswick, Ohio. He moved to Bokeelia from Valley City, Ohio, 27 years ago. Once in Bokeelia, he started Ray King Lawn Service which he ran until just before his death.

He loved boating and spending time on the water. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, Moose Lodge and the Eagles.

He is survived by his loving family, including his friend, Dorothy LaHart of Bokeelia; daughters, Bonnie Hower of Chatham, Ohio, and Linda King of Chatham, Ohio; grandchildren, Dawn McDonald and Brian Hower; great-grandson, Aiden Michael McDonald; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family suggests memorial donations in his memory be made to the Greater Pine Island V.F.W. Post 4353, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
