To the editor:
Mike Scott, Lee County sheriff, has distinguished himself throughout Southwest Florida. Responsible for more than 1,700 employees, and charged with a position both difficult and dangerous, the sheriff has performed with praiseworthy efficiency.
It should be noted that this admirable performance is no strange phenomenon, there's no luck involved, and his level of perfection is the direct result of both acquired skill and years of practical experience.
Mr. Scott, a graduate of The University of South Florida, where he obtained a bachelor's degree, continued his education and secured a masters degree in business administration from IMPAC University. And, still not content with his qualifications to serve the citizens Sheriff Scott raised the bar again and in 2010, this extraordinary public servant.in order to further hone his abilities, Mike Scott graduated from the prestigious F.B.I. academy, and was selected as the graduating class speaker, honors to be admired and respected!
There is no doubt that this is an experienced, well-prepared "top cop" and a man very important to the continued safety and protection of citizens in his jurisdiction. Scott is articulate, intelligent, tenacious, and a credit to both his badge and to all who understand the great difficulties revolving around his enormous law enforcement responsibilities.
He's a tough guy, he's proven his merit, and he deserves to be re-elected. The continuation of good government and good sense demand that Mike Scott continue as Lee County Sheriff!
