To the editor:
Cape Coral meets its General Motors moment. As a recent new resident of the city the pension funding issues for public employees seems to be an issue needing immediate rectification.
There is an article in this weekend's (May 12-13)WSJ opinion page you all should read.
In a nut shell it alludes to bankruptcy by a city unable to pay its pension fund obligations.
It behooves the parties involved to take a look at General Motors and understand it can and will happen to Cape Coral unless you decide to Govern as well as negotiate responsibly.
The clocks ticking.
