Aglow International

Aglow International Fort Myers Lighthouse will hold a continental breakfast meeting today, March 10, at 9:30 a.m., at Sam Seltzer's Restaurant, 12635 S. Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Sheila Zellers, the founder of Motivated by Love Ministries, which holds monthly outreach meetings in Naples, a weekly television outreach and radio program. She is an anointed and powerful prophetess, singer, songwriter, worship leader and evangelist.

Cape Christian Fellowship

Cape Christian Fellowship has a worship time and style to fit everyone! Contemporary Worship is held on Sunday mornings at 9:45 and 11:15. Traditions, which incorporates classic hymns and a more relaxing atmosphere, is held on Sunday mornings at 8:30. The newest service offering, Family Nights, is held Fridays at 6:30 p.m., and is always followed by a special event or activity for the whole family to enjoy!

During our 9:45 and 11:15 a.m, worship gatherings, Bugz Landing is where infants through Pre-K learn about how God loves them and how Jesus is their forever friend. KidzStreet is for children from kindergarten through 5th grade and Infuse is where middle school students learn to grow in their faith. There is a special service every Wednesday night, "Awakening" for high school students, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church's new sermon series is "Final Words From the Cross." Each week during Lent the message will focus on Jesus last words spoken from the cross. This week the message will focus on, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

Covenant Presbyterian Church

Covenant Presbyterian Church has a new senior pastor/head of staff

He is the Rev. Dr. Jeffery DeYoe, who is currently the senior pastor at the Worthington Presbyterian Church located in the Columbus, Ohio, metro area. He will assume his new position April 1, Palm Sunday.

Dr. DeYoe has 30 years of experience as a senior pastor in both big and small churches at Worthington; Palm Coast, Fla.; and two churches in Minnesota.

Covenant, located on McGregor Boulevard near the Edison Home in the River District, has around 500 members. This year it is celebrating its Jubilee 50th Anniversary,

Dr. DeYoe, selected by a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC), received a unanimous vote at a recent Congregational Meeting after he preached the sermon. The PNC, chaired by Beverly Grady, has met weekly since April 2011 and reviewed over 200 resumes and listened to and watched on the internet many sermons and traveled to three states to hear sermons and interview prospective candidates.

Dr. DeYoe has been married to his wife, Ruth, for 29 years. The couple has two grown children, Tina, 27, who has a Master of Divinity degree and Aaron, 25 who is a graphic designer in the Minneapolis area.

Dr. DeYoe grew up in Kansas, receiving his undergraduate degree in philosophy from Kansas State University. He earned his master of divinity degree from Princeton and his doctor of ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary.

Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral

The church is now offering counseling services to individuals, couples and groups. All of us, from time to time, face challenges that threaten our security and exhaust our emotional and spiritual strength. Women of the Word, a ministry of EPC, is a women's Bible study that meets at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary every Tuesday. Faith Presbyterian Church

Over 200 handbell ringers from across the state of Florida will convene at Faith Presbyterian Church on March 9 and 10 for two days of classes and rehearsals. The event will culminate in a concert in Faith Center at 3 p.m. on today, March 10. The guest conductor for this event is Monica McGowen from Minneapolis. The concert is free and open to the public.

McGowen is widely known as a handbell clinician and conductor, and is the artistic director of the Twin Cities Bronze, a community-based handbell ensemble.

For the six weeks leading up to Easter, Sunday worship services at Faith will be at 8:15, 9:18 (contemporary, in Faith Center), 9:30, and 11:15 a.m. (not 11 a.m., as usual). The 11 a.m. service will be delayed by 15 minutes to help relieve parking lot congestion from the earlier services.

New Hope Presbyterian Church

New Hope Presbyterian Church is hosting an outdoor picnic at Lakes Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers, today, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plan to join the congregation for good food, fellowship and fun games for the kids.

A barbecue lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, baked beans and macaroni and cheese, catered by Buddy's Kuntry Katering, will be served from noon-1 p.m. Bottled water and lemonade will be provided.

Paul Jennings Ministries to present Praise Fest

Paul Jennings Ministries is proud to present the 2nd annual Praise Fest. Last year's event was a success and organizers say this year promises to be even better.

Today, March 10, Praise Fest will feature many of the areas top Christian artists. Gates open at 11 a.m., and music starts at noon and will go until 10 p.m.

Praise Fest will be held at Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers. Tickets are just $10 for the entire day with raffles and give-a-ways throughout the entire day.

The event is sponsored by Paul Jennings Ministries, WRXY-TV, Brent's Music, Fuller-Metz Funeral and Cremation Services and many other fine businesses.

Praise Fest will help benefit The Salvation Army. Everyone is encouraged to bring a canned food item or clothing to help the Salvation Army.

St. Patrick's Day Hooley

A St. Patrick's Day Hooley (celebration) will be held at St. Andrew Parish Hall, Wednesday, March 14, at noon. The cost is $10. The event will feature corned beef sandwiches,fabulous dessert table and drawings for the pot 'o' gold, gift baskets and gift cards.

The messages will be delivered by Dr. Cornelius Hegeman. He is academic dean of Miami International Seminary. He supervises distance education for pastors around the world. He travels extensively throughout Latin America teaching classes to pastors of churches who lack a desirable level of education. Regular seminary-level courses are offered in all areas, and degrees are awarded as the students advance to higher levels of learning. The pastors then teach other courses so that the program is growing exponentially.

The church's "Missionary of the Month" is Dr. Sylvia Martinez who runs the Like Society Clinic in the Dominican Republic, giving care to the poorest of the poor among the people of the Dominican Republic and to Haitians near the border who work the sugar cane fields.

GriefShare recovery seminar and support group

Cape Coral Community Church will hold a GriefShare recovery seminar and support group on Tuesdays, from 6-8 p.m., through May 22. The church is located at 811 Santa Barbara Blvd.

GriefShare sessions include a video, featuring nationally recognized experts on grief, and group discussions focused on those who have lost a loved one through death.
