BIA offers OSHA Fall Protection Course

at Contractors Showcase

The Lee Building Industry Association will offer a three-hour OSHA Fall Protection Course taught by the National Association of Home Builders at the Contractors Showcase on Jan. 19, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., at Harborside Event Center, Fort Myers. Participation in the course includes a NAHB seminar completion card, other resource guides and admission into the Contractors Showcase, BIA's largest annual industry trade show.

SBRN hosts networking,

roundtable discussion

The Southwest Florida Small Business Resource Network will host a networking and roundtable panel discussion on the best ways to protect your intellectual property, from 5:30 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Lee County Economic Development Office in downtown Fort Myers, 2201 Second St. SBRN, a statewide organization, is sponsored locally by Florida Gulf Coast Universi-ty's Small Business Development Center.

Presenters are Edward M. Livingston and Bryan L. Loeffler - U.S. registered patent attorneys and SBRN members. They practice patent law and other areas of intellectual property law, including trademarks/service marks, trade dress, trade secrets, copyrights, franchising, and litigation.

Cape Coral Eye Center

expanding to south Fort Myers

Dr. Farrell C. Tyson of Cape Coral Eye Center has announced the expansion of the Cape Coral and North Fort Myers based eye care practice to South Fort Myers. Tyson has purchased the property located at 8004 Vintage Parkway, Fort Myers, previously Focal Point Interiors, and will be doing business as Tyson-Eye.

The new satellite office will be remodeled to accommodate a full vision care center with a team of ophthalmologists, opticians and an optical shop. There may also be opportunity for an expansion to an ambulatory surgery center to conduct several ophthalmic surgeries such as cataract, glaucoma Lasik surgeries.
