On Friday, Dec. 9, at the Palmetto Pine Country Club, which is now open to the public, Charlie Nigel, banquet manager, and his staff helped make the Gold Coast Estates Association Board's annual Christmas Dinner a successful and wonderful night especially for its Toys for Tots project. The communities effort surpassed last year's total donations with over 150 toys picked up that evening.
A special thank you goes out to to all the volunteers and the participating G.C.E.A. sponsors, including Palmetto Pines, The Hayloft, Wilson Automotive, The Wallace Team Reality, Mangia Bene, The Cafe, Jane Nadine, Goodyear (on Del Prado), The Lazy Dog, Sue Exum Coldwell Residential Banker and special guest Santa and Ms. Claus (Frank and Rose Musco) for helping making the G.C.E.A. Christmas galla event a successful and enjoyable night.
The generosity and caring of 85 residents who attended and those neighbors who were unable to attend but still donated Toys, was greatly appreciated. It is great to live in a neighborhood that is caring and committed, have functions and give back to their community.

Laura Onzo also noted that this past spring, a G.C.E.A. neighborhood barbecue and food drive for Harry Chaplin Food Bank yielded over 100 pounds of donated food.
G.C.E.A. was founded in 1978 and is noted as the first neighborhood association in Cape Coral. G.C.E.A. also actively maintains a community beautification program headed by Chairman, John Camp and a social network to promote its ongoing community activities.
