Taylor Morrison and Bonita Bay Group announced this week that the homebuilder has purchased the remaining homesites in the Sandoval community in Cape Coral, launched in 2005 by Bonita Bay Group.
Sandoval was the first master-planned, gated community in Cape Coral and has remained one of the top-selling communities in Southwest Florida since its introduction, with 120 new home sales in 2011 alone. There are 577 homesites remaining, or about a third of the overall total for the 524-acre community.
"Sandoval was our first community that didn't include a golf course," said Gary Dumas, vice president of Bonita Bay Group., "but we knew the marketplace was seeking an amenities package that offered an enhanced lifestyle. As the community has matured, those amenities have remained at the center of the activities for residents of all ages. We're pleased that the concept for Sandoval has stood the test of time."

Steve Kempton, president of Taylor Morrison West Florida, said the homebuilder expects the brisk sales pace at Sandoval to continue. "Sandoval consistently accounts for about 50 percent of all building permits in the city of Cape Coral," Kempton said. "Even as other areas slowed, Sandoval continued offering a price point and value that are enhanced by the amenities in the community. Families can't find this package anywhere else."
Kempton said all Sandoval employees will remain in their current positions.
"The residents here are happy with the service and operations, so we're pleased that everyone has agreed to stay on for the next chapter of Sandoval's success," he said.
Dumas added that the Sandoval sale has no impact on Bonita Bay Group's remaining community, Verandah in Fort Myers.
