Concert series to feature Faith Choir and Sun Coast Swing Dance Band
The first two events in Faith Presbyterian Church's 2011-12 concert series will take place Dec. 18 and Jan. 6.
On Sunday, Dec. 18, the Faith Choir and a chamber ensemble from the SW Florida Symphony will present a Celebration of Christmas Carols at all three worship services in the Faith sanctuary - 8:15, 9:30 and 11 a.m. - under the direction of Michael Helman. Choral arrangements of many favorite carols will be presented, along with Gustav Holst's Christmas Day.
On Friday, Jan. 6, the Sun Coast Swing Dance Band will perform in Faith Center at 7 p.m. The band provides hits from the likes of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Hoagy Carmichael, and more, as well as a mix of dance music such as waltz, polka, cha-cha, and a dash of the blues. A $5 free-will offering is suggested.

All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church to hold bake sale
All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church in North Fort Myers will be holding a bake sale today, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Several ethnic baked goods will be available such as nut roll, poppyseed rolls, cookies and several breads. Also available will pirohi in six different varieties.
