Cape Christian Fellowship

Contemporary worship gatherings are Saturday at 5 p.m., and Sunday Tradition service at 8:30, and contemporary 9:45 and 11:15 a.m.

During worship gatherings, Bugz Landing is a safe and caring place for infants through Pre-K5 and Kidz Street is open for K-Grade 5 (8:30 a.m. service only provides childcare for 0-2 years old). Energy is a class for middle school students during worship gatherings each weekend.

Middle school students are invited to Energy every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. High school students are invited to Awakening every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church's new sermon series is "Biblical Wisdom for Challenging Economic Times." How did we get where we are with our economy? What are the real spiritual reasons underneath our problems? What can we do about them? Our life's mission surely isn't about how much stuff we have - we need to recover why we were created and what should really be our priorities. How can we overcome the continuing fear of a new normal that isn't what it used to be economically - how can we live with a reset life?

Council of Catholic

Women of St. Katharine Drexel Church

The Council of Catholic Women of St. Katharine Drexel Church will be holding its annual Fall Bazaar today, Nov. 19, form 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bazaar will feature over 20 vendor booths as well as handmade crafts, a bake shoppe, bistro, book sale and white elephant sale. Proceeds from the bazaar will to toward helping those in need in the Cape Coral area.

The event will be held at 1922 S.W. 20th Ave., Cape Coral.

Daybreak Fellowship

DayBreak Fellowship will host a Day of Thanks celebration today, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. There will be a short contemporary worship service with praise band, followed by a Thanksgiving meal outdoors with turkey, ham, side dishes and desserts. Nursery for babies through age 4 and Kids' Church for children age 5 through 5th grades will be provided during the service.

Location is the sanctuary of New Hope Baptist Fellowship, 431 Nicholas Parkway E., Cape Coral. There will be no 6 p.m. worship service that day or 4:45 p.m. adult Bible study due to the celebration.

Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral

This Sunday, Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral will have a visiting pastor named Tony Chin, who will be speaking on Philippians 3:12-16, "For-ward, Ever Forward." Sunday morning worship service starts at 10:20 a.m. to noon. The church offers adult and youth Sunday school classes, ages 2 through 8th grade, starting at 9:10 a.m. During the worship service and Sunday school hour, director Stacey Lakes provides a loving place for infants to Pre-K.

Sunday evenings at 6, the church has an adult prayer time while the children's program and youth group meet.

Women of the Word, a product of EPC's women's ministry, meets on Tuesday mornings at 9 and offers a night class as well at 7. The winter session is a 12-week series on 2 Corinthians which begins in January 2012.

Providence Christian School strives for academic excellence within the context of a program that addresses the whole child-mind body and spirit. For its missions outreach project this school year, Providence Christian School has partnered with the Gitega Future Hope School in Burundi, Africa. PCS Children are bringing in change to help purchase playground equipment for the school in Africa. A PCS parent, working with Builders Without Borders in Burundi, took a "love-gift" of 100 backpacks, signed by the PCS students, to the children last week.

Faith Presbyterian

Church presents Celtic

and Scottish tunes

Lee County Pipes and Drum Playing will present "ole-country" tunes, both sacred and secular, on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Faith Presbyterian Church. A 15-minute pipes and drum presentation in the courtyard will precede the 11a.m. worship service.

The group was founded in 1998 by Duncan MacLachlan and continues the traditions of piping, drumming and Celtic music common to Scottish and Irish pipe bands. The group performs regularly at local community events, parades and private functions.

Healing Prayer

Afghan Ministry

A Life In Christ invites all knitting or crocheting prayer warriors in Cape Coral to join our Healing Prayer Afghan Ministry Fridays from 11-1 p.m. HPA knits and crochets 6-inch x 6-inch or 8-inch x 8-inch afghan squares that are pieced together into afghans that are given away freely to the ill or grieving. Only 100 percent Acrylic 4-ply medium worsted weight yarn (washable, fade resistant, mothproof) is used. Volunteers pray for the healing, comfort, financial peace and salvation of each afghan recipient.

Anyone with even beginning knitting / crocheting skills may participate. There is no cost to join, and supplies are available for volunteers to use on site. HPA meets each Friday at Cuppa Life, a coffee and sandwich shop at Del Prado Mall, in the same plaza as TJ Maxx.

The "Missionary of the Month" is the Rev. Allen Vandner Pol, who writes theology courses in English for students around the world who study with Miami International Seminary (MINTS). He writes courses in Systemati (doctrinal) Theology. He supervises students and study centers in Southeast Asia. Presently he travels to India, Myanmar and the Philippines to teach and supervise the work of study centers there. He also tutors a student in Malawi.
