DALLAS (AP) — A former executive with a construction firm that specialized in recovery from natural disasters has been sentenced to four years in prison for defrauding investors.
Federal prosecutors in Dallas on Monday announced the sentence for 50-year-old Brian Marshall of Tampa, Florida. He pleaded guilty in November to one count of securities and commodities fraud.
Prosecutors say he defrauded hundreds who invested in Home Solutions of America Inc. Marshall was a vice president and on the board of Home Solutions in Dallas before the company moved to Louisiana in 2008.
Marshall led a subsidiary, Tampa-based Fireline Restoration Inc., and in 2006 and 2007 he fabricated financial data about construction projects.
Frank Fradella of Covington, Louisiana, who was CEO of Home Solutions, earlier pleaded guilty to securities fraud and awaits sentencing.
