Yoga and Massage Studio to hold grand opening Nov. 12

Yoga and Massage Studio in Cape Coral will hold a grand opening Saturday, Nov. 12, from noon to 6 p.m.

The studio, located at 3046 Del Prado Blvd., South, unit 2B, will hold a kids yoga party from noon to 3 p.m. featuring a 30-minute yoga class, yoga games, food and door prizes.

Then from 3-6 p.m., there will be one-hour adult yoga class (suitable for every age, body type or flexibility), Qi-gong demonstration, massage samples, food, door prizes.

The center has certified yoga instructors, a professional massage therapist, and a nice and relaxing atmosphere.

Florida Gulf Bank welcomes manager to Sandoval office

JoAnn P. Balfrey has joined Florida Gulf Bank as the banking office manager of the Sandoval location in Cape Coral. Balfrey brings more than 20 years experience to Florida Gulf Bank in commercial banking, mortgage banking, wealth management and bank operations.

She is responsible for overall operations at the Sandoval banking office, management of the banking office team and new client and business development. Prior to joining Florida Gulf Bank, Balfrey was an assistant branch manager in Bonita Springs and personal banker in Fort Myers for another area bank.

She is an active member of the Southwest Florida community volunteering at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, the Florida Repertory Theatre and the Cultural Park Theatre. She is also a volunteer for the Edison-Ford Estates and Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc.

IHOPs celebrating Halloween Friday

IHOP restaurants in Southwest Florida will celebrate Halloween a little early this year, offering kids 12 and under a free Scary Face Pancake as part of a national No Tricks Just Treats program designed to provide kids with a safe and fun Halloween event. The special event will be held Friday, Oct. 28, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at participating IHOP restaurants

The Count Spatula "design-your-own" Scary Face Pancake includes an oversized signature buttermilk pancake with a whipped topping mouth and strawberry nose, served with two mini Oreo cookies and candy corn on the side to allow kids to create their own Halloween hotcake.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals "Pumpkin icons" are available for purchase at IHOP restaurants for $1 and will be personalized and displayed through Oct. 31.

This opportunity provides guests a chance to help kids in their area, with proceeds benefitting a local Children's Miracle Network hospital.

Stevens Construction earns Contractor of the Year honor

Southwest Florida College, Fort Myers Broadcasting to host job fair Nov. 18

Southwest Florida College, in partnership with Southwest Florida Works, has announced that Fort Myers Broadcasting and their affiliates, WINK-TV, WINK-FM. WINK-AM and WTLQ Radio will function as the broadcast television and radio partner for the upcoming first Regional Job Fair at the Holiday Inn Airport Town Center in Fort Myers Friday, Nov. 18.

The event will be open to the public between the hours of 1-4 p.m. and is "complimentary" to both employers and job seekers. The college is providing a special morning session and luncheon for participating employers.
