Adventist Church

A seminar to study the Bible book of Revelation, "Unlocking Revelation," is offered free to the public starting Oct. 9, on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings at 7 at the Adventist Church Auditorium at 1813 El Dorado Parkway, Cape Coral. (Directions: 3 blocks west of Chiquita Boulevard, south of Cape Coral Parkway). Classes will be for 5 weeks.

Participants will receive free, colorful Bible lessons and many other helpful resource materials. There will be free child care for ages 4-10.

Pastor Roger Lucas, PhD, a specialist in New Testament studies, has presented this seminar to the enrichment and appreciation of audiences in several locations throughout the United States.

Cape Christian Fellowship

Join Cape Christian Fellowship this weekend as Van Ibasan continues the series Bold Crossings with the message, "Jesus' Last Words." Contemporary worship gatherings are Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:15 a.m.

During worship gatherings, Bugz Landing is a safe and caring place for infants through Pre-K5 and Kidz Street is open for K-Grade 5 (8:30 a.m. service only provides childcare for 0-2 years old). Energy is a class for middle school students during worship gatherings each weekend.

Middle school students are invited to Energy every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. High school students are invited to Awakening every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church's new sermon series is "Why? Making Sense of God's Will." Does everything happen for a reason? Why do some prayers seem to be answered and others not? Why does God allow hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis to cause such havoc? Why are so many people hungry or at war? Cape Coral First sponsors a safe and supervised "trick or treating" experience for all children at Trunk or Treat Monday, Oct. 31. Join the church for Halloween fun with music, games, snow cones, popcorn and plenty of candy. It's all free, and runs from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Veterans Park.

Foundations Early Learning Center provides childcare, preschool and afterschool care for children from infants to 8 years old in a brand new facility as part of the growing family and youth programs at Cape Coral First United Methodist Church. Celebration a Life In Christ

Join A Life In Christ for an old-fashioned Hymn Sing and Gospel Celebration Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cuppa Life coffee shop, located in Del Prado Mall, in the same plaza as Office Max and TJ Maxx.

The program is open to the public. We will take song requests, and hymnals will be provided.

Chabad Jewish center

The Chabad Jewish center offers free services for the Jewish high holiday of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur

Chabad's services are "user-friendly," making it enjoyable and meaningful for both the beginner and the advanced. Song, commentary and the use of English-Hebrew prayer books, enable those of all levels to become active participants in the services.

Yom Kippur began after sundown on the eve of Friday, Oct. 7, and extends until nightfall today, Oct. 8.

Chabad Jewish Center will be holding Yom Kippur services this year at 4706 Chiquita Blvd., S., Cape Coral.

Presbyterian Church

Women of the Word is a program that bring women in the Lee County area together to support one another in their faith. This fall season women from a variety of faith backgrounds meet weekly to study the book of Nehemiah.

The study meets Tuesday mornings from 9-11 or Tuesday evenings 7-9 at Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 701 Mohawk Parkway, in Cape Coral.

There is a complete nursery and children's program, including home-schoolers for morning session only.

Faith Bible Fellowship

Grace Church to host Family Fall Festival

Grace Church at 13 S.E. 21st Place, at the corner of Southeast 21st Place and Hancock Bridge Parkway, Cape Coral, will be holding a free Family Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4-7 p.m.

There will be food, music, games, face painting, prizes, petting zoo, bounce house and other fun stuff.

Guests can also visit Southwest Florida's largest Pumpkin Patch.

Healing Prayer

Afghan Ministry

A Life In Christ invites all knitting or crocheting prayer warriors in Cape Coral to join our Healing Prayer Afghan Ministry Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. HPA knits and crochets 6-inch x 6-inch or 8-inch x 8-inch afghan squares that are pieced together into afghans that are given away freely to the ill or grieving.

Only 100 percent Acrylic 4-ply medium worsted weight yarn (washable, fade resistant, mothproof) is used. Volunteers pray for the healing, comfort, financial peace and salvation of each afghan recipient.

Anyone with even beginning knitting / crocheting skills may participate. There is no cost to join, and supplies are available for volunteers to use on site. HPA meets each Friday at Cuppa Life, a coffee and sandwich shop at Del Prado Mall, in the same plaza as TJ Maxx.

The church's "MIssionary of the Month" is Dr. Cornelius Hegeman, academic deat at Miami International Seminary. Hegeman supervises distance education for pastors around the world. He travels extensively throughout Latin America teaching classes to pastors of churches who lack a desirable level of education. Regular seminary-level courses are offered in all areas, and degrees are awarded as the students advance to higher levels of learning. The pastors then teach others courses so that the program is growing exponentially.

There will be an offering for Hegeman during the morning services.
