Find out what it takes to start a business or build business skills by attending a five-part series beginning tonight, Sept. 29.
Hosted by Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company P.A., in conjunction with the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Women in Business, the educational series will provide business-minded women with tools and resources to ensure success.
The five individual programs will cover topics such as understanding legal entities and taxation, how to prepare a business plan and budget, methods for raising capital, obtaining financing and insurance, branding and marketing your business, be-coming an employer and human resources issues.
Speakers scheduled for the series to-date include Robbie Roepstorff, president of Edison National Bank; Denise Wheeler of Roetzel & Andress; Melinda Isley APR, partner with Gravina Smith, Matte & Arnold Marketing and Public Relations; and Erin Houck-Toll of Henderson Franklin Starnes and Holt PA.
The series topics are:

- Oct. 6: Preparing a Business Plan & Budgeting
- Oct. 13: Raising Capital, Obtaining Financing & Insurance
- Oct. 20: Branding and Marketing Your Business
- Oct. 27: Becoming an Employer & HR Issues
The Women in Business education series will be held every Thursday, beginning Sept. 29 and continuing through Oct. 27 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company at 8961 Conference Drive, Suite 1 in Fort Myers.
Registration is $100 for the series or $25 for each program. Space is limited to 25.
All proceeds from the education series will benefit the Women in Business scholarship fund at Florida Gulf Coast University.
