AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Florida have concluded that an Auburn University student who died during a spring break trip to Key West asphyxiated after accidentally falling down a flight of stairs.

Autopsy results released Tuesday show that 22-year-old Mary Beth Goodner of Opelika was found unconscious on stairs outside a rental condominium on March 17. The report says she wasn't able to breathe because of the way she landed and never regained consciousness after a resident found her.

A medical examiner found that the student had been out with friends and apparently went back to the condo alone. His report says Goodner was intoxicated and either couldn't get up after the fall or lost consciousness.
