The signs of spring have been subtle this year.
Winter was mild, the rainy season has made no early entrance and "season" is leaving in its wake some signs of recovery - tourism numbers are up, unemployment stats have dipped, housing prices appear to be stabilizing and builders are again pulling a permit or two.
Hope does spring eternal and who can criticize those who look for better times ahead?
Springs marks two holidays of great import to Judeo-Christian theology and both have their roots deep into the wellspring of hope.
Passover, the most significant of Jewish holidays. continues this weekend as those of the faith celebrate Passover's promise of freedom and the mark of slavery's end.
Easter, the most holy of Christian holidays, is Sunday. The faithful worldwide will gather and celebrate its message of rebirth, and of a promise that resonates as clearly today as it did more than 2,000 years ago.
May you and yours have a happy holiday.
And may this spring herald good times to come.
